The Hump Day Humor-Gram, January 24, 2007 Issue Number 202 1. Ecuador’s New VP High on Humor 2. Mike’s Fun at Work Tip 3. Deep Thought of the Week 4. It’s a Wacky, Wacky World =============================================================== 1. Ecuador’s New VP High on Humor The new vice-president of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, is a big believer in the power of humor. He tapped into the health benefits of laughter and humor after being hit by a carjacker’s bullet nine years ago. Since becoming a ”humor convert”, he’s authored a book on the subject and has spoken at conferences on the power of humor (including a joint appearance with Dr. Patch Adams). And now that he’s a big time political leader, Moreno wants to continue to tap into his sense of humor, even to make jokes about himself and his political party. He also plans to communicate the importance of humor to employees of the state bureaucracy as a way to boost productivity and the quality of service to the public. ================================================================ 2. Mike's Fun at Work Tip For your next staff meeting, luncheon or social, bring along your alter ego music star names, which you’ll find by plugging your name into a random name generator at: www.popstarname.com, www.countrystarname.com or www.rockstarname.com. (And just for the record, I’m Michael Kerr, a.k.a. Enrique Jordan, Bubba Pride, or Cody Keith.) ================================================================= 3. Quote of the Week "Good humor is a tonic for mind and body. It is the best antidote for anxiety and depression. It is the direct route to serenity and contentment." - Grenville Kleiser ((Kleiser (1868-1953), was a writer known for his writings on humor and attitude.)) ================================================================= 4. It's a Wacky, Wacky World Last year’s winners of the “Best Wacky Warning Labels” were recently announced. And the winners were . . . - “DO NOT put any person in this washer” (label on a front- loading washing machine) - “Never use a lit match or open flame to check fuel level” (label on a personal watercraft) - “Do not iron” (a label on a lottery ticket) - “Do not dry cell phone in a microwave oven.” Happy Hump Day! Keep making the person in the mirror laugh! ================================================================= Copyright Michael Kerr, 2006 mailto:mike@mikekerr.com Reach Michael at 1-866-609-2640, http://www.MikeKerr.com.
