1. Happy Electronic Greetings Day 

Yes, apparently today is Electronic Greetings Day. Now I’m
the last guy who want to be a party pooper and rain on anyone’s
special day, but allow me to do so anyways, by suggesting
that Electronic Greetings day be used to remind ourselves of
the importance of face-to-face, personal communication. 

As well, we need to remember that the written word does not smile, 
so it’s also a good day to remind ourselves of how easy it is 
for miscommunication to happen via e-mail, especially when 
trying to be funny, and doubly so when using sarcasm!  

So today, by all means, take the time to send a greeting 
to someone. Just do it the old old-fashioned way. By cell phone.
(Okay, I’m kidding. But see how I had to tell you I was 
kidding. . .because the written word does not smile. . .yet I 
am sitting here smiling right now. . .honest.)

2. Mike's Fun at Work Tip 

Speaking of e-mail and e-humour, one of the most popular forms 
of humor in the workplace are of course those goofy e-mails 
people forward onto to everyone and their dog. Some of the 
messages can be hilarious, but I know of many a worker who 
complains that they are already so overwhelmed with e-mails that 
the last thing they want is more messages, even if they are fun 
ones. So if you want to make sure you’re actually adding to the 
fun quotient, take the time to check with recipients you might 
be unsure of. Some companies even create separate “humor” 
mailing distribution lists so folks have the option of being 
included (or not) on the wacky e-mail forwarded messages.

4. It's a Wacky, Wacky World 

British comedian Tim Vine got into the Guinness Book a World 
Records for telling the highest number of jokes in an hour.
Vine managed to reel off 499 one-liners, which works out to 8.3
jokes per minute! (And I can’t even remember the one I heard 
yesterday . . .)       Happy Hump Day Everyone. Keep laughing.   =================================================================
