The Hump Day Humor-Gram, March 22, 2006, Issue Number 168 1. Lovely Parting Gifts 2. Mike's Fun at Work Tip 3. Quote of the Week 4. It's a Wacky, Wacky World ========================================================== 1. Lovely Parting Gifts If you have colleagues that are being laid off, retiring or just moving onto greener pastures, then why not turn what can sometimes be a somber affair (especially where layoffs are concerned) and have a celebration. But instead of folks bringing gifts and corny speeches, everyone is required to bring along a great idea, a reference book, three contact names or something else of real value that will help the person move on to the next stage of their life. ========================================================== 2. Mike's Fun at Work Tip Look for opportunities to add some humor to signs in and around your workplace. For example, at a First Baptist church, they have the following sign: “Permit Parking Only. We Forgive Those Who Trespass Against Us – But We Also Tow Them.” How about the bakery with the sign: Get Your Buns In Here! Or there’s the sign at the vet clinic: No Parking Here – Violators Will Be Neutered! ========================================================= 3. Quote of the Week “A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any invention in human history, with the possible exceptions of handguns and tequila.” Mitch Ratliffe ========================================================== 4. It's a Wacky, Wacky World Once again, science has opened up our eyes to new and amazing insights. A study from Cornell University found that, yes, astonishingly enough, people eat more stale popcorn if it is served in a large bucket. My mind is totally blown. ======================================================== Copyright Michael Kerr, 2006 mailto:mike@mikekerr.com Reach Michael at 1-866-609-2640/http://www.MikeKerr.com.
