1. The Love and Laughter Connection 

According to research cited in the book “Mind Wide Open”
by Steven Johnson, the part of the brain that is
“activated” when we’re madly in love is the same part of 
the brain “turned on” when we laugh! So if you want to
fall in love all over again with your job (or heck, your
coworkers, boss or in-basket) then make sure you get
your weekly quota of laughs in!

2. Mike's Fun at Work Tip 

Bring back the wave! A group of accountants I recently 
worked with told me how they brought “the wave” back to 
their weekly staff meetings: any time someone shared 
some good news they would do the wave around the meeting 
table. They said it kept everyone loose, laughing and 
most importantly during meetings . . . awake.

4. It's a Wacky, Wacky World

Finland, a reputed hotbed of wacky events, recently 
held the sixth-annual Mobile-Phone Throwing World
Championships. The winner, Mikko Lampi, did something 
we all dream of doing when he heaved his cell phone
for a record (and phone) breaking 95 metres!
