Another Reason to Laugh Researchers from a Nashville University presented their hilarious findings at a conference on obesity. Yes, they found reason number 39 to laugh: 10-15 minutes of laughing a day burns the equivalent of 50 calories, or enough to lose 2 kilograms of weight a year. =========================================================== 2. Mike's Fun at Work Tip Harvey Mindness once said, "You can't teach people to be funny, you can only give them permission to be funny." So with that in mind, give everyone where you work (especially yourself) permission to have fun with a constant reminder of the importance of fun with a funny slogan, fun mascots, badges, stickers, buttons . . . anything that continuously reinforces the message to lighten up! ======================================================== 3. It's a Wacky, Wacky World The 2004 Ig Noble award winners were recently announced at Harvard University. These are prizes awarded from the "Annals of Improbable Research." The winners include studies that looked into: - the effects of country music on suicide. - the dynamics of hula hoping - the validity of the "it's safe to eat if it has only touched the floor for five seconds rule" . . . and my personal favorite, Donald and Frank Smith were recognized for patenting. . .the comb-over!
