Create an Inspiring Vision to Motivate Employees

Most vision statements are completely useless.  In fact, I think most vision statements belong in a Dilbert cartoon!  For a vision statement to be useful they need ideally be co-created, be inspiring, connect emotionally, be truly compelling and grand and long term and everyone needs to understand what the sucker actually means beyond the words!

Yes, it’s another chicken and egg thing: Harvard psychologist Moshe  Bar suggests that happier people tend to come up with more ideas,  and, conversely, if you want to get happier, try coming up with more ideas. Thinking about positive future outcomes,  making unusual associations (which happens when you brainstorm or tap into our sense of humor),  doing something slightly out of your comfort zone, or speed reading have all been proven to boost your mood when you are feeling a little down.  =====================================================================
